The 1st Asia‐Pacific Conference on Coaching Science will be held as follows:
Date: 11(Friday) - 13 (Sunday), July 2014
Place: The National University of Hokkaido, Sapporo, Japan
10 min.walk from Sapporo JR Station
Welcome all of you from the bottom of my heart to the Conference. The coaching science is relatively a new area among sport sciences, nevertheless, the role of it is very important because of give the strong effects to athletes, children & pupils in school, and also to adults. The main place of activities of coaching is so called “Practical field” and have a big educational role, especially in case of training the young people.
I’m sure, the coaching science can support to different types of coaches and also to many different types of athletes in the “Practical field” from a stand point of science.
The Asia Association of Coaching Science: AACS has established in 2011, and gave the statement as follows;
The mission of the Asian Association of Coaching Science (AACS) shall be: To promote and maintain the highest possible values in sport and the coaching profession, and to collaborate for the development of theory and practice of sport coaching in Asia-Pacific regions. AACS also aims to integrate theory and practice in sports coaching science, to bridge the gap between coaching and sports science, to promote critical reflection of coaching practice, and to critically examine commonly-accepted beliefs about coaching effectiveness and performance enhancement.
The statement stressed the coaching science should be developed together with “Practical field” to get the affluent culture of sport and exercise. I hope the development of support system of scientific based coaching, not the coaching of only a background of the personal experiences.
I want to emphasize the importance of the first International Conference on coaching and coaching science will be held in “the Asian Cultural Sphere”. I hope more affluent and new stream of coaching and coaching science will be produced through the exchange of the activities of sport and exercise culture in Asia-Pacific and also in the World.
